Hawkbit vs mender

Hello Team ,

Could you please provde comparision to hawkbit , something similar to Comparison: Memfault OTA and hawkBit | Memfault Docs to have decission on adopting mender over hawkbit .

Hello @sudheermygapula,

we do not have a full comparison to hawkbit at the moment, so just a few items here:

  • Mender is a coordinated end-to-end solution, which means that the server and client components are developed together. This avoids integration problems or friction because of different goals on those two ends.
  • Mender offers a managed solution at hosted.mender.io, which means that you do not have to care about self-hosting operations, security, incident response and so on.
  • With client and server being a coordinated solution, Mender can offer advanced features such as the Troubleshoot AddOns remote terminal, for example: Pricing - Configure Add-on Package | Mender
  • Mender comes with the full web GUI, as opposed to hawkbit where it was just removed: Remove Vaadin 8 UI · Issue #1510 · eclipse/hawkbit · GitHub

Both can be self-hosted, of course.
