Introducing Device Dojo: Launching with TPM-based Disk Encryption on Raspberry Pi 4

Hello everyone!

We’re excited to announce the launch of the new Device Dojo series with our inaugural session on September 11th at 10:00 AM CEST. This hands-on series will focus on practical embedded security implementations and advanced device integration techniques.

Our first session will demonstrate hardware-based security using the LetsTrust.de TPM module with Raspberry Pi 4 to encrypt persistent partitions using Yocto as the demonstration platform.

In this inaugural dojo, we’ll explore:

  • Setting up the LetsTrust.de TPM on Raspberry Pi 4 with Yocto
  • Configuring TPM-based LUKS encryption for persistent storage
  • Leveraging hardware security modules for embedded device protection
  • Best practices for TPM integration in edge computing scenarios

This session will be particularly valuable for developers working on secure embedded systems, IoT edge devices, and anyone interested in hardware-based encryption solutions.

All example code and configurations demonstrated during the session will be published afterward at GitHub - mendersoftware/meta-mender-community: Community supported Yocto Project layers (Board integrations) for Mender for different boards for the community to build upon.

Join us for this interactive session as we kick off the Device Dojo series!
