Flipping A/B partitions

On the same topic with bit different use case: experimenting on a deployed device.
While I am going through flipping back and forth between the two versions in A and B using the client, I’d like to avoid going through the full cycle using Mender. The device already has the alternate (latest and the previous minus N e.g.).

Does the client check before uploading the artifact image just in case that the device may already have that same version/checksum etc. already in the inactive partition? Then it may not need to download again.

Hi @raj.panchal,

In the standard process, there is no way to skip the download. What you can do is to create a custom update module that just flips the partitions without modifying them. The artifact for such a module would obviously be very small then.
