Does the Mender Artifact get deleted (including all of its state scripts) after performing a rootfs update? I’m looking into bundling additional artifacts (kernel, etc) into the Mender Artifact’s state scripts, and I’m hoping that they’ll get deleted afterwards so they don’t take additional space.
IIRC I believe they are deleted at the next update, not at the end of the current one. So they will always occupy the space of the most recent update, but they won’t accumulate.
@kacf to clarify, does this sound correct?
The main artifact should be streamed into the inactive partition, so isn’t stored anywhere. I’m unclear about what happens with the state scripts though - do they get saved in /var/lib/mender/scripts/?
Correct on both counts!
