@kacf any thoughts on my latest discovery?
Also, could you please share your thoughts on us transitioning to Mender client 4?
Our device is based on the raspberry pi 3. We base our images on official raspberry pi images, which in turns get prepared using mender-convert. Once prepared, the resulting image is used to commission new clients. In a similar manner, A/B updates are dealt with the same way.
Looking at the latest version of mender-convert, the MENDER_CLIENT_VERSION config seems to suggest that Mender client 4 will NOT be installed by default on debian bullseye and older. In our case, we base our images on bullseye, this decision being taken based on the supported images on your forum (Raspberry Pi 3 Model B/B+ Raspbian), as well as the image you guys provide in the Docs under Prepare a Raspberry Pi Device (Prepare a Raspberry Pi device | Mender documentation).
With all the information above, what is your suggestion for us to start using Mender client 4, and of course attempt to test if the new client is also affected by the issue we are facing?
Thank you very much, we appreciate your patience in dealing with this.
