Mender Terminal & Port Forward latency issues

Here is our environment:

  • Intel NUC64 device with touch screen
  • Yocto Dunfell
  • Usually runs through a 4G connection but for testing purposes we used the our office network.
  • We run VNC server on the device

We also experience a lot of connection problems with mender-cli by the way: "Bad Handshake" with mender-cli - #9 by Austriker . The connection is better through the web UI on hosted mender but we can’t port forward.

Produce the scenario for port forwarding

  • port forward the VNC port
  • With your VNC client lower the quality
  • Try to look an animation and see if it’s close to fluid
