# What is Mender Tenant Token?

Hi all,

I’m using Mender hosted server for my Mender OTA and I’m using `MENDER_TENANT_TOKEN` in client to connect with server.

But I don’t know what it is for sure and I could not find anything on documentation too. I would be grateful if someone shed light on it.

Hi @danie

Look at `organization` [here](https://docs.mender.io/overview/taxonomy). And it is a `Tenant` token, not `Tenet`. And it is what links your device to your user account in a multi-tenant setup, such as `hosted.mender.io`.

From [Mender documentation](https://docs.mender.io/2.6/overview/taxonomy#:~:text=Organization%20-%20A%20single%20customer%20environment%20in%20the%20Mender%20server.%20Also%20known%20as%20a%20Tenant.%20Note%20that%20multi-tenancy%20is%20only%20supported%20in%20Mender%20Enterprise.),

**Organization** - A single customer environment in the Mender server. Also known as a `Tenant`.

_Note_: that multi-tenancy is only supported in Mender Enterprise.
