# Summary

The [edi-var project configuration](https://github.com/lueschem/edi-var) allows you to build Mender enabled system and update images for the [Variscite VAR-SOM-MX8M-NANO](https://www.variscite.com/product/system-on-module-som/cortex-a53-krait/var-som-mx8m-nano-nxp-i-mx-8m-nano/).
Furthermore the same configuration can be used to build a LXD container with a preinstalled cross compilation toolchain.

The table below gives an indication about the minimal storage requirements:

| OS setup | Size on storage | Update artifact size | Source image | Test result |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Debian Bullseye arm64](https://www.debian.org/releases/bullseye/index.en.html) | dynamic (recommended storage size \>= 4GB) | 91 MB | n/a (built from scratch based on Debian bullseye) | :test_works: |
