# The rootfs size overrides IMAGE\_ROOTFS\_MAXSIZE

Hi,

It seems that the generated rootfs image is a lot bigger then the default rootfs partition.

You can adjust this with the [MENDER\_STORAGE\_TOTAL\_SIZE\_MB](https://docs.mender.io/2.0/artifacts/yocto-project/variables#mender_storage_total_size_mb) variable.
