# Running Mender Gateway on Windows

I can see the Mender Gateway comes in various download packages for different flavours of Linux: [Downloads | Mender documentation](https://docs.mender.io/downloads#mender-gateway)

But has anyone tried running this on Windows within WSL2?

Hi @Tom-Isaacson,

So far I’m not aware of any ongoings there. Stupid question, have you tried “just running” it and see what happens? Given the fact that WSL is essentially Linux on Hyper-V and the gateway only needing network functionality, I would guess there’s a substantial chance of it being functional, or at least very close.
