@grahas so it is solved for you now?

For the record, there also is an integration for an STM32MP-type board now that uses a more generic setup: [Octavo Systems OSD32MP1-RED on eMMC](https://hub.mender.io/t/octavo-systems-osd32mp1-red-on-emmc/5649)

Maybe this is good inspiration for you.
