# Multi tenancy; what is shared what is not?

I am trying to introduce multi tenancy. What is shared and what is not shared among tenants?

With multiple tenants, nothing is shared between them They are completely separate environments.

Within a tenant you can add additional users with [differing permissions](https://docs.mender.io/overview/role.based.access.control).

Do you have a specific use case in mind?
