# Mender support for Qt based Embedded Linux

# Board description

I am using Apalis imx 8 board.

Also i am using Qt on this board and currentky using Boot2Qt package with Qt 6.3.2.

I have followed the link that you shared with Colibri Imx7

Now i am trying to do the exact same thing but with Imx8 and Qt6.

I am running into an error in the beginning itself that says

**ERROR: Layer mender is not compatible with the core layer which only supports these series: honister (layer is compatible with dunfell)**

**ERROR: Layer mender is not compatible with the core layer which only supports these series: honister (layer is compatible with sumo)**

I have tried all the tags and branches but no luck. I manually changed the layer to support new way of poky but without any success.

Do we have some support here?

Hi @dhiry2k,

The iMX7 guide is a bit outdated by now, sorry. `meta-mender` as well as `meta-mender-community` currently support the `kirkstone` release, see the respective repositories:
