# \[mender-convert-modify\] Sorry, not able to determine target architecture

Hi all,

I tried to convert a new Debian Image with mender-convert. I used this tutorial "  
[Convert a Mender Debian image](https://docs.mender.io/system-updates-debian-family/convert-a-mender-debian-image)"

```

My build stepps:

- mkdir input
- cd input
- dd if=/dev/sdb of=debian.img bs=1M conv=fdatasync
- cd …
- ./scripts/bootstrap-rootfs-overlay-hosted-server.sh --output-dir ${PWD}/rootfs\_overlay\_demo --tenant-token ${MENDERTOKEN}
- MENDER\_ARTIFACT\_NAME=release-1 ./docker-mender-convert --disk-image input/debain.img --config configs/generic\_x86-64\_hdd\_config --overlay rootfs\_overlay\_demo/

But I get this error message:

Can someone please tell me what else I need to adjust?

Hi @Dirk welcome to Mender hub.

My guess is that this is due to the extra partition in your input image. What are the two Linux filesystems used for here? The mender-convert probe functions may need to be modified to support this partition layout.

Hi @drewmoseley ,

I I followed this [schema](https://hub.mender.io/t/intel-nuc-x86-64-ubuntu-18-04/2214):

- /boot/efi - size 200MB
- / (root partition) - size ~6GB

Don’t I have to create an extra partition for /boot?
