Hello, I started using the mender-artifact tool to edit artifacts in order to avoid rebuilds for minor changes but I have hit a snag in figuring out how to edit a commit enter state script. Is editing a header file such as this supported and if so would someone be so kind as to point me in the right direction. Thank you!

Hi @SegFault,

If you are using a Debian-based system, I think this is the information you are looking for: [State scripts | Mender documentation](https://docs.mender.io/system-updates-debian-family/convert-a-mender-debian-image/state-scripts).

If you are using a Yocto-based system, I think this link could be useful for you [Modify an Artifact | Mender documentation](https://docs.mender.io/artifact-creation/modify-an-artifact#copy-a-file-into-an-artifact).

Regards,
Luis
