# How to get information about update and artifact version from server?

Hello, we are trying to make update with user confirmation, but we don’t want to get failed status within 24h after Sync operation.  
As I understand, we can make it with the help of Sync\_Enter script, but I can’t understand how to send information about the board to the server and get new artifact version (if there is an update) without deployment start.  
And after, if user want, he can start deployment force with

> mender check-update

Unfortunately this is not supported yet. There is a [ticket on the road map](https://tracker.mender.io/browse/MEN-4194), but it has not been scheduled so far. I don’t think there is a workaround currently.
